Seventeen-year old Matthew Thwaites is trapped snooping in his father’s study when his father returns home unexpectedly with two strange men. He hides in the only place he can get to in the time - under the desk, but is horrified to see his father gunned down just inches away from him after a disagreement. The man who shot his father is a senior and very corrupt police officer, while the other is a dubious Middle-Eastern man, whose motives are highly suspect.

Given an opportunity to flee, he does so, but finds himself framed for the murder, by the very man who committed it.

Alone, and powerless, he hides out at a busy airport, where he discovers a police manhunt has been initiated with him as their target. His appearance is such that he is mistaken for a girl. Given the idea, he makes the most of this, and goes whole hog into the deception, becoming Monique, his French cousin. He manages to find an ally in an officer investigating corrupt police officers, so together they start to try to piece together the puzzle.

He is then pitched into an international roller coaster ride involving terrorists, corrupt police and double agents.

But Monique is twice the person that Matthew ever was, and given the chance, she decides to take over, for Matthew's body is hiding something that only become apparent much later in the tale.

It then gets even more confusing.

What a nice surprise

Purchased this book expecting to read about cross-dressing; got that; but what a surprise to find out that Tanya Allan is an excellent writer and takes the reader into a fast reading and well scripted and researched story of espionage and romance. She isn't shy about describing the lingerie and clothing I expected to read about, but neither is this a cheap porn book. The author's abilities far exceed what I would expect and I eagerly will read everything this author has written. I am surprised at the price of the book as, after reading it, would gladly pay in the neighborhood of $15-$20 for this type of material.

It cries out for a sequel

I really liked this story. I know that there were some obviously contrived plot devices as well as glossing over some of the nuances of the challenges that the main characters would have undergone.

I am really curious why there are no sequels. I understand it is the most successful work from the author, and there are many options that would be perfect material for a sequel, for example..

D.C. Allison Grover is kidnapped by terrorists or corrupted police officers
The mysterious Mr. Aziz is plotting a major terrorist event
Monique's fiancee Alex is captured by terrorists in N. Africa while working at the embassy

In any event I really enjoyed the story and would love to see more in this series.

Seriously Good Stuff

Okay, so I may only be onto chapter 10 (about 71%) but this book has me hooked, the first book since 50 Shades that has hooked me like this, I just want more :) I would seriously pay good money to get this in paper-based form.

The story is compelling and interesting, if somewhat fast moving in places, but it works. Like others I brought it with the expectation of maybe some steamy cross-dressing, but boy was I wrong, it's so much more than that, there's murder, mystery, intrigue, spies and love, it's an almost perfect mix that should suit most people in my humble opinion.

About the Author
Gerald C. Karp received a bachelor’s degree from UCLA and a Ph.D. from the University of Washington. He conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Colorado Medical Center before joining the faculty at the University of Florida. Gerry is the author of numerous research articles on the cell and molecular biology of early development. His interests have included the synthesis of RNA in early embryos, the movement of mesenchyme cells during gas- trulation, and cell determination in slime molds. For 13 years, he taught courses in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology at the University of Florida. During this period, Gerry coauthored a text in developmental biology with N. John Berrill and authored a text in cell and molecular biology. Finding it impossible to carry on life as both full-time professor and author, Gerry gave up his faculty position to concentrate on writing. He hopes to revise this text every three years.

This book is not only delightfully, unflappably British ("of course" says Sophie's mum when a Tiger turns up at their door and asks to join them for Tea) but can also be told with the lights off in English or Mandarin (we are a bilingual family) as we drift off to sleep. We have baby milk powder tins set aside to convert into Tiger Food cans - this book steps off the page for our family and forms part of our shared wonder and imagination. Which is a relief, because manufacturing wonder and imagination all on ones own is exhausting. So thank you Judith Kerr and her illustrator.

Not a well designed e book

the real book is way easier to use, unless weight or space is your main concern. No link to the table of contents. You have to go to the front page and scroll through to it, Graphics are good but it makes page loads very slow, so paging through looking for something takes forever. There are no links to the chapters in the table of contents so you must try to scroll to the right page and same thing for the index in the back. Also they will not let you view the books from the kindle web browser or my iPhone, only a kindle or my table, which greatly reduced it's usefulness. Ebooks should be better than paperbooks, they have the opportunity. But I have yet to find a single one that I was satisfied with and this one is no different. Its just a really big, slow to load pdf file.

There's no countermajoritarian problem

Ely's Democracy and Distrust: A Theory of Judicial Review attempts to square the circle of the judicial review literature. Ely argues that an interpretivist approach to constitutional review doesn't encounter the same countermajoritarian difficulties of other approaches. Indeed, judicial review and the constitution focus on procedural rules that make democracy workable by protecting every individual's right to participate and vote in democracy. This is different from protecting substantive values, which Ely claims are more ephemeral and shouldn't be constitutionalized (see, 18th amendment). Sometimes Ely's writing is marred by long and confusing sentences. He seems to like sentences interrupted by dashes and completely new ideas. This shouldn't discourage people from reading the book, but might mean it'll take a bit more work to understand his arguments.

These anatomy color books 1&2 are very good ones. (Someone said "B&W book". But it was wrong. These book are color books. Becouse, I have 1&2 both.) If you need to check Motor nerve and Striated muscle, I do recommend these books. You can see the detail of it.
